Yes, Queen Elizabeth Saluted the Nazis, But there’s A LOT More to the Story

(ANTIMEDIA) Over the weekend, a video was leaked that shows Queen Elizabeth and her family proudly displaying the Nazi salute. The video shows  “…Queen Elizabeth II performing a Nazi salute as a child with her mother, sister and uncle at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The video was most likely filmed between 1933 and 1934, after Hitler’s rise to power in Germany,” RT reported.

A spokesman for the royal family said, “It is disappointing that film shot eight decades ago and apparently from HM’s (her majesty’s) personal family archive has been obtained and exploited in this manner.” The family is reportedly seeking to prosecute whoever leaked the video.

This is a headline that is shocking to some and unsurprising to others, but regardless, attracts instant, widespread attention.

Unfortunately, the leaked video merely scratches the surface of insidious Western ties to the notoriously fascist regime—specifically, economic powers in the United States. American connections to Nazi Germany shatter the mainstream historical narrative and reveal a great deal about the underlying connections between nations at war.

For example, IBM recorded the victims of the Holocaust for Germany. IG Farbin—the chemical company that would become Bayer Pharmaceuticals—worked with the Nazi regime from the beginning and was connected to prominent American industrialists.

Prescott Bush (Presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s Grandfather) and other American industrialists, magnates, and Wall Street bankers engaged in extensive economic activity with Nazi Germany throughout the war.

Though this information is better sourced through books written on the topic, in 2004 the Guardian reported that

“George Bush’s grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism. His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz…”

The Bank of International Settlements (BIS), self-described as “an international organization of central banks which fosters international monetary and financial cooperation and serves as a bank for central banks,” supported Nazi Germany as if there was no war.

These little-known connections paint a vastly different perspective of the powers’ relationships with each other and reveal that money is a more potent force than any armed conflict where leaders send their citizens to die.

The well-documented relationship between Western powers and Nazi Germany should render the leaked royal video unsurprising. The detailed documentation of these relationships can be found in various books and publications.

On another note, some view the sudden release of the video as a distraction from more important issues. Is this revelation of little or great practical significance to our era in history?

In any case, it may serve as a perfect vehicle to convey this information.

Because of the historical perspective revealed with this topic, please share this with as many people as possible.

For those seeking more information, the free PDF book, Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler by Antony C. Sutton is a worthwhile, well-sourced read that documents the connections between economic powers and Nazi Germany. For another aspect on the Nazi infiltration of the U.S., do some research on Operation Paperclip.

  1. I like this outlet of opinion and information, and this article is again one that interests me and that is an impottant aspect of history to be heard, but what does not sit well with me is the separation of the "western powers" from Nazi Germany. Germany is and always has been in Europe and has, since becoming Prussia, been part of the e"Wstern Hemisphere". Distinguishing the regime from the rest of the West as this article does exacerbates the use of the term "Western" as being synonymous with good or right or just, exactly as it is used in current media. If i were editor here, i'd suggest reconsidering how this article reads in the perspective of our current context. Naxi Germany was a dictatorial regime that developed IN the west. This war was the west fighting themselves (something this article hints at itself when proclaiming the war was for profiteering between like-minded people across the world.)

  2. The Third Reich was an extremist version of the Aryan supremacy that has dominated central Europe for centuries. That same belief is what allowed the British Empire to spread across the globe and the American colonies to move west across the Great Plains, to Hawaii, the Phillippines, Japan and Vietnam. It kept us in war with the Slavs in the Soviet Union and the rest of the world that is populated by non-Aryans. It sounds like a fantasy, but it happened that way. The alliance between Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy is the same corporate sponsored state military regime with their privatized propaganda mainstream media ideology that rules the United States. If anyone doesn't believe that then they should just study the history of the last two years of World War II. The United States aided thousands of Nazi scientists to escape Germany and avoid prosecution so they could work on NASA projects. While the United States claims it was their soldiers that won the war by sending 500,000 young troops off to fight for the economic interests of the rich people here, the Soviets under that madman named Stalin gave up 20 million lives against Hitler. We could see the advantage of numbers the Soviets had and developed the Atomic bomb and dropped it on "yellow people" to prove we could. Democracy is not exclusive to Capitalism, Nazi Germany and Italy proved Capitalism could be Dictatorships and act just like feudal monarchies and Imperialism while oppressing people and fighting wars. The Queen of England is of German heritage and trying to draw divisions between royal families based on nationalism is nonsense considering World War I was fought between King George V, Kaiser Wilhelm II and Czar Nikolas of Russia and they were all Queen Victoria's grandchildren. When rich people, or monarchs, say you have to go kill the other guy everyone should ask why. It is always about economics, so whether it was Nazis, Fascists, Communists or Imperialists it does not matter. I would expect nothing more than to see the Queen of England with a Nazi salute, this mythology predates all of us…and it is used to mobilize royal families and even "democratic" governments to send their loyal subjects out to die for the other guys cheap labor, raw materials and resources.

  3. I'm confused. Was this article about the royal family, or the Bush's shady dealings?

  4. Connecting those in power as supporters and profiteers of Nazi regime. Also hinting that WWII and the rise of Nazi Germany wasn't perhaps all one man’s idea, but a collective effort between a few world powers and connected people…. least that's what I read.

  7. Awesome post Jason. White supremacy entails so much more than a bunch of idiots running around wearing hoods. It may explain why it's now ok with the US and its European allies that Stepan Bandera is a national hero in Ukraine.
