The Corporate Media's Complete Hypocrisy on France Terror Attack Coverage

(ANTIMEDIA) The French Government deployed around 10,000 troops on Tuesday, sent to specifically protect Jewish neighborhoods and assets considered a high priority to the French Government.

The troops will be present “as long as the threat exists,” according to a French troop named Col. Benoit Brulen.

“There are going to be some very serious discussions about how to deal with this threat, and unfortunately that equates with some kind of militarization,” said Myriam Benraad, a terrorism researcher.

“It’s impossible to do close surveillance of thousands of people,” said Jean-Louis Bruguière, a former counterterrorism investigator. “You’d need thousands more police and thousands more intelligence officers.”

Last week, around 2000 people were killed by the mysteriously armed Boko Haram group in Nigeria. The mainstream media didn’t blink, and no ‘humanitarian troops’ were deployed by the UN or any powerful group because they simply don’t have anything to exploit or pillage in Nigeria. The US stopped buying oil from the country mid 2014 and no “compassionate” news stories out of Nigeria have been exploited by our imperialist media since.

On the Fourth of July in 2014 in Chicago,  84+ people got shot, and 14 died. The mainstream media did not blink because they had nothing to gain from publicizing the violence.

Here’s another recent example of this completely hypocritical standard of prioritizing one form of life over another: recently in an upper-class neighborhood in San Francisco called  Hayes Valley, 4 black men were shot dead in a car. This particular incident gained massive attention, more than any incident in a long time in the Bay Area; because it wasn’t in the ghetto.

This happens all over the San Francisco Bay Area, all the time. Neighborhoods in Oakland, San Francisco, Vallejo, East Palo Alto, Richmond, all these places have murders in higher numbers than you could imagine if you aren’t familiar with the areas, and the mainstream media barely blinks when they occur.

However, this San Francisco quadruple homicide occurred, well, outside of the ghetto. There you have it; why are other tragedies more important than others?

The list of other much more severe incidents all over the world is pretty much endless.

So when you see an incident that is in no way shape or form worse than a previous incident, and the previous incident was completely ignored by mainstream media and government officials, realize it’s to fulfill an agenda.

However, if you’ve been keeping up with things, you would know that and I’m preaching to the choir.

So what is the agenda in France and the EU? Well, it’s becoming obvious that increased surveillance, militarism, and eroding of rights is on the menu. What we may unfortunately see in France is a French version of the Patriot Act and other awful repercussions from a media induced fear frenzy; which, of course the government is exploiting and taking full advantage of. France has just announced that it is sending an aircraft carrier to the Middle-East to help the US bomb countries there and government reactionaries are already calling for a more invasive spy dragnet.

It’ easy to forget, especially considering that it was not news, that France has intervened militarily in Africa at least 30 times since the 1960’s. Most recently, France’s neo-colonialism struck the country of Mali in 2014 with Operation Serval. An unknown amount of civilians were killed by French forces according to Human Rights Watch, but a specific number is not known, once again, because colonialism is not news.

The corporate media has labelled the attack not an act of revenge for hundreds of years of colonialism and recent interventions against predominantly Muslim countries, but an act that was directed at stifling freedom of speech. The unfortunate thing about this narrative is that the French government had already killed freedom of speech a long time ago. They even banned public protesting just a few months ago. We covered that back 0n July 19th,

“Under pressure from pro-Israeli groups, government officials instituted a ban on pro-Palestinian demonstrations and say that anyone showing up to such an event could face up to three years in prison and a 45,000 Euro fine. Even just sharing event locations on social media is grounds for arrest.”

And to top it off, just a few days ago France cracked down on freedom of speech and arrested a comedian for posting controversial opinions on Facebook. There is a war on freedom of speech in France, but it’s already over. The government won and freedom of speech lost. This whole narrative that France is standing up for freedom is a complete farce.

Please share this with as many people as possible who don’t know the reason why these much less tragic incidents get national attention; agendas are being fulfilled, if these people had true moral standards and concern they would treat all losses of life equally.
