(ANTIMEDIA)Last week, John Boehner’s former country club bartender was indicted for allegedly plotting to kill the House speaker by poisoning his drink or shooting him in a drive-by.
Boehner was apparently rude to bartender Michael Hoyt on multiple occasions, but unfortunately the man had a history of mental illness and took his encounters with the politician to heart. Hoyt also reportedly heard voices which that told him Boehner was evil and was responsible for the Ebola outbreak, or at least that is what police are currently telling people.
Boehner is certainly evil and it is true that he should likely be brought to trial for his crimes, but he is probably not responsible for Ebola and assassinating politicians is certainly not going to solve anything.
Hoyt reportedly began to plan the assassination after he was fired from the Wetherington Golf & Country Club in West Chester, where he served Boehner on multiple occasions. He was under the impression that Boehner was among a group of people who complained about him and had him fired.
“Hoyt told the officer he was Jesus Christ and he was going to kill Boehner because Boehner was mean to him at the country club and because Boehner is responsible for Ebola. Hoyt advised he had a loaded Beretta .380 automatic and he was going to shoot Boehner and take off,” United States Capitol Police Special Agent Christopher Desrosiers told CNN.
According to police, Hoyt also emailed Boehner’s wife on multiple occasions.
In one email he said that “If I had any intention of hurting Mr. Boehner, I could have poisoned his wine at Wetherington many, many times.”
“Speaker Boehner is aware of this situation, and sincerely thanks the FBI, the Capitol Police and local authorities in Ohio for their efforts,” Boehner’s spokesman, Michael Steel said in a statement.
