(ANTIMEDIA) — A Catholic priest in Ireland was recently caught on video snorting cocaine during a late night party, which he hosted at a house on church grounds. Father Stephen Crossan reportedly brought several friends back to his home after two whole days of drinking and partying, and then began to use cocaine.
Additionally, Nazi memorabilia could be seen in the background of the shot, and they seemed to be Crossan’s personal property.

Crossan told reporters he does not have a drug problem, and that the recorded incident was actually the only time he was done drugs.
“It was just the one night and that was it,” he said.
He said that at the time the video was taken he was on sick leave from the church and suffering from depression.
An anonymous source told the Irish Sun that Crossan’s room contained Nazi memorabilia, including flags, hats, and an eagle with a swastika on his mantelpiece. Crossan has admitted to owning these items but claims he is not a Nazi supporter. He says he collects historical items from all over the world, and those just happened to be the items that people noticed.
A source who was reportedly in the room while the recording was being filmed gave the Sun the following description of what happened:
“Stephen said he was a social worker but told us the truth when we realised he lived on church grounds. He had been drinking beers and Jack Daniels as well as taking coke. The house was really lovely, with plush carpets and antique furniture everywhere.
“But we were pretty stunned to see all the Nazi stuff everywhere — badges, hats and flags. He showed me all these pins — there must have been about a hundred badges. It was all over the house, it reminded me of that Nazi room in Father Ted — I told him that and he laughed it off. At one point Stephen put on a cap and did the Nazi salute but he was just messing around.”
“There was a big rail of all of his gowns — we tried some of them on and danced about. I jokingly said we should taste the communion wine — but he didn’t take it out. We were in the kitchen most of the time, listening to chart music. It’s really shocking. He’s supposed to be an upstanding member of society. He shouldn’t be taking drugs.”
BBC noted the Church’s response:
“In his statement, Bishop of Dromore John McAreavey said that Fr Crossan had asked for and been granted leave from his pastoral duties at Seapatrick parish in May 2015. He said he had been receiving counselling and was considering his future.”
Crossan had reportedly requested to be placed on sick leave for depression last month. He is no longer living on the premises.
