(ANTIMEDIAReggae artist Shaggy recently pointed out that if ISIS soldiers would just smoke some weed and listen to his music, they would not have a desire to cut off people’s heads.

Speaking to the Miami New Times, Shaggy said,

If you’re able to cut a man’s head off, you’re sick, but, music evokes emotion. So if they’re listening to Shaggy music or reggae music, they’re not going to want to cut somebody’s head off. There’re two things you want to do when you listen to reggae: You get somebody pregnant, or you’re f—ing high. High people don’t want to kill nothing; they want to love. They need to bag some Jamaican weed and distribute it amongst ISIS. I guarantee there won’t be any more wars out there … And throw some Bob Marley up in there and there’ll be peace.”

Shaggy actually makes some pretty good points. When human beings deal with a violent adversary, they are typically dealing with a person who is sick or traumatized. In times of war, people do horrible things for a variety of reasons. Both sides see each other as demons with no shred of humanity, which leaves no hope for negotiation or reason. In reality, there are usually two groups of human beings, each of them doing terrible things to one another.

Maybe all soldiers everywhere need to just spark up some joints and put on some reggae music.

Interestingly enough, 47-year-old Shaggy, aka Orville Burrell, was once in the United States Marine Corps and fought during the Gulf War. It would be interesting to ask Shaggy if it was weed and reggae music that woke him up from his own military mind control.

Shaggy is best known for his hit singles “Boombastic,” “It Wasn’t Me”, and “Angel.”
