(ANTIMEDIA) New York City, NY – Fox lies. Brian Williams lies. Most news organizations have become nothing more than corporate and government sponsored public relations machines. So, which outlets should you follow?

Mint Press News: The outlet just celebrated their second anniversary. The focus of Mint Press is definitely geared towards civil liberties violations and attacking the corporate masters of the political elites. Relentless in the pursuit of helping the reader connect the dots inside of the story.

Facebook             Twitter

The Free Thought Project: One of the fastest growing independent media outlets on the internet, TFTP’s mission is to expose police and government misconduct. Often featured on Cop Block and Police the Police, they are at the forefront of the police accountability movement.

Facebook              Twitter

Fifth Column: New outlet designed to bridge the gap between independent and mainstream media with a heavy focus on investigative journalism. Employs staff from most of the other outlets on this list.

Facebook              Twitter

Revolution News: For a window into what’s truly going on outside of the US, RevNews is the site to follow. They cover conflicts, protests, and revolutions from all over the world and America. Many of their stories have live video feeds from location, giving the reader an unadulterated view of the news.

Facebook             Twitter

Common Dreams: Possibly the oldest alternative news site on the web. It started back in 1997. The outlet is very upfront about its left-leaning tendencies, which allows the reader to adjust. The outlet maintains a unique “progressive newswire” that is featured prominently on the site.

Facebook              Twitter

The Pontiac Tribune: The Tribune stands out for not only covering mainstream stories from a different point-of-view, but for being willing to delve into topics many outlets shy away from. A close affiliation with Storm Clouds Gathering helps to constantly provide unique content.

  14. Why not Give The FCC the Power to bring back The Fairness Doctrine That Reagan put the ki-bosh to back in 1987. that way there couldn't be the slant they would have to tell both sides of the story. Also i think maybe Canada might have the right idea on Broadcast news lying. In Canada if a News Outlet is caught in lies they can lose their License. The thing is would any of this stuff make it through Congress!!!

  33. Mint Press and Revolution News will post anythibg, fact based or not. Give me a break. And of course there's no conflict with the author representing his own work on these sites. Internet news is barely 50% accurate most of the time. Get out out and get involved in your own community firsthand, then we know the 'truth'. Final point: When you're being honest, you don't have to talk about how honest you are.

  34. The Guardian might be a surprising addition to the list. It is a mainstream news source, but what makes it different is that it is funded through a trust. There is no corporation behind it. Unfortunately,, the trust has been losing money. There is worry that the Guardian might go under. I have seen them report news from America before the mainstream would.

  36. Not if you know how to exact the common law in court. You may say that they don't listen to you in court, but the problem is, most people enter into equity courts and not courts of law.

*COURT, practice. A court is an incorporeal political being,
which requires for its existence, the presence of the
judges, or a competent number of them, and a clerk or
prothonotary, at the time during which, and at the place
where it is by law authorized to be held; and the
performance of some public act, indicative of a design
to perform the functions of a court. 2. In another sense,
the judges, clerk, or prothonotary, counsellors and
ministerial officers, are said to constitute the court.

**Court of Law. In a wide sense, any duly constituted
    tribunal administering the laws of the state or nation;
in a narrower sense, a court proceeding according to
the course of the common law and governed by its
rules and principles, as contrasted with a "court of
    equity (q. v.)."

**[COURT] The person and suit of the sovereign;the place
where the sovereign sojourns with his regal retinue,
    wherever that may be.

    ***:[Courts] Classification
Courts may be classified and divided according
to several methods, the following being the more
    usual:
Courts of record and Courts not of record.
The former being those whose acts and judicial
proceedings are enrolled, or recorded, for a perpetual
memory and testimony, and which have power to
fine or imprison for contempt. Error lies to their
judgments, and they generally possess a seal.
Courts not of record are those of inferior dignity,
which have no power to fine or imprison,
and in which the proceedings are not enrolled or recorded.
    3 Bl. Comm. 24; 3 Steph. Comm. 383; The Thomas Fletcher, C.C.Ga., 24 F. 481;
    Ex parte Thistleton, 52 Cal. 225; Erwin v. U. S., D.C.Ga., 37 F. 488, 2 L.R.A. 229;
    Heininger v. Davis, 96 Ohio St. 205, 117 N.E. 229, 231.

A "court of record" is a judicial tribunal having attributes
and exercising functions independently of the person
of the magistrate designated generally to hold it, and
proceeding according to the course of common law, its acts
and proceedings being enrolled for a perpetual memorial.
    Jones v. Jones, 188 Mo.App. 220, 175 S.W. 227, 229; Ex parte Gladhill, 8 Metc.,
    Mass., 171, per Shaw, C. J. See, also, Ledwith v. Rosalsky, 244 N.Y. 406, 155 N.E. 688, 689.

*MAGISTRATE, mun. law. A public civil officer, invested with some part of the legislative,
executive, or judicial power given by the constitution. In a narrower sense this term includes
only inferior judicial officers, as justices of the peace. 2. The president of the United States is
the chief magistrate of this nation; the governors are the chief magistrates of their respective
states. 3. It is the duty of all magistrates to exercise the power, vested in them for the good
of the people, according to law, and with zeal and fidelity. A neglect on the part of a
magistrate to exercise the functions of his office, when required by law, is a misdemeanor.
    Vide 15 Vin. Ab. 144; Ayl. Pand. tit. 22; Dig. 30, 16, 57; Merl. Rep. h.t.; 13 Pick. R. 523.

*TRIBUNAL. The seat of a judge; the place where he administers justice; but by this term is
more usually understood the whole body of judges who compose a jurisdiction sometimes it
is taken for the jurisdiction which they exercise. 2. This term is Latin, and derives its origin
from the elevated seat where the tribunes administered justice.

****Courts of record. The court of impeachment, the supreme court, the district courts,
the workers' compensation court, the municipal courts, the justices' courts of record,
and the city courts of record are courts of record.

Legend: *Bouvier's 1856 6th Ed. Law Dictionary; **Black's Law 5th Ed. Law Dictionary; ***Black's Law 4th Ed. Law Dictionary; ****Montana State Annotated 2014 3-1-102.

You see, in a real court of law, the sovereign is the tribunal and the government official, simply our magistrates! 46. Harv Dykstra The American Free Press is a weekly newspaper published in the United States.
The newspaper's direct ancestor was the publication The Spotlight, which ceased publication in 2001 when its parent organization, Liberty Lobby, was forced into bankruptcy. Like The Spotlight and Liberty Lobby, Willis Carto, one of America's most influential political racial theorists known for his promotion of antisemitic conspiracy theories and Holocaust denial, was one of its founders.
