U.N. “Peacekeepers” Fire On Protesters In Haiti To Suppress Revolution

(TheAntiMedia) This week it was reported that so-called “peacekeepers” working for the UN are assisting Haitian police to suppress a popular revolution that has been growing in the country.

Large groups of protesters marched on the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince, demanding the resignation of President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. When protesters hit the streets they were met by UN troops and Haitian police who used tear gas and fired live ammunition indiscriminately.

During the protests, president Martelly made a statement to the demonstrators, saying that Lamothe would be stepping down as Prime Minister to meet their demands.

“The prime minister is ready to resign, I acknowledge this decision he is making to help find a solution to the crisis. I commend him for his courage and determination to help Haiti, Martelly said.

Protests have continued to grow throughout the week, with the president desperately making compromises with hopes of staying in power.

The United Nations and NATO are quick to take the side of protesters when it is politically advantageous for them. However, when a dictator that is allied with western powers is threatened by a popular revolution, the UN is just as quick to suppress that revolution for their own interests.

US Secretary of State John Kerry weighed in on the issue this Tuesday, saying that the country should hold special elections to decide on leadership.

“Recognizing the concessions made by all sides to resolve the impasse, the United States urges all parties to reach without delay a definitive agreement on all outstanding issues and to carry out that agreement in good faith,Kerry said in a statement.

In the video below you can see police and UN soldiers clashing with protesters. The sounds of rapid fire from military-grade guns can be heard throughout the video.
