(TheAntiMedia) Four innocent Palestinian boys were murdered in cold blood today by the Israeli government and no, Hamas was not “hiding behind them” despite popular propaganda pushed out by the Israeli-friendly corporate media. The boys were playing soccer on the beach when an Israeli airstrike killed them all instantly. The US State Department has issued a statement on this tragedy in which they immediately blamed Hamas for.
As the death toll rises on the Palestinian side to well over 200 now, of whom 80% have been civilians, Israel finally took its first casualty of the conflict on Tuesday.
Many who are reading this have probably already seen the brutal images coming out of Gaza; women and children blown to bits, homes destroyed, city blocks leveled. Even though this conflict seems far removed from an American’s daily life, the fact is that every American is actively supporting the slaughter of Palestinian civilians through the taxes that you pay to the government. This is because Israel is the largest benefactor of US military aid. In fact, from 2009 to 2018, the United States is scheduled to give Israel $30 billion in military aid; with another $351 million in aid being approved by Congress earlier today.
Any and all ‘taxpaying Americans’ are indirectly, and many times unwillingly, supporting the brutal bombing and killing of innocent people not just in Palestine, but in many other places around the world. The US government is actively supporting the opposition forces in Syria, prolonging the brutal civil war there that as killed over 100,000 people. It has been shown that the militant group ISIS or IS has received weapons, training, and funds from American clandestine operations aimed at overthrowing the Syrian government. The new ‘legitimate’ and brutal Ukrainian regime, rife with neo-nazis, has also been on the receiving end of US aid. This oligarchical government in Kiev has received billions in US taxpayer funding, turned on its citizens in the East of Ukraine, killing hundreds if not thousands of dissidents and separatists. The US government has not only helped fund these actions, they have also stated their support for them. You are paying for this.
US foreign policy is not done for humanitarian purposes, our support for brutal dictators around the world (think Saudi Arabia, Saddam Hussein before he messed with our oil, various South American military dictatorships, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, then the Military dictatorship that followed him) is evidence enough of that. Our foreign policy is about securing resources for corporations, and propping up militarily ‘friendly’ regimes at all costs to human life and US taxpayer treasure. Nothing more.
Here are the real images from the ground in Palestine today where these four innocent boys, all cousins, were slaughtered. Their names were Ahed Bakr (10), Zakaria Bakr (10), Ismail Bakr (9), and Mohammad Bakr (11). These are the pictures the corporate media, who so often blindly support US government interests, won’t show you.
