(ANTIMEDIA) Yesterday it was announced that the police officer who slammed an elderly Indian citizen to the ground in Madison, Alabama will be charged with assault. The cop was arrested and charged with assault on Thursday.

According to The Free Thought Project,

Madison police officer Eric Parker is facing charges of third-degree assault after brutally attacking a 57-year-old man who could not understand the officer’s instructions due to a language barrier. and was left hospitalized on the morning of Friday, February 6.

The officer’s assault of the grandfather, Sureshbhai Patel, left him hospitalized and partially paralyzed with fused vertebrae.

Dashcam footage of the brutal take down was also released yesterday which clearly shows the officer assaulting a compliant, harmless elderly man.

One can only hope that more cops actually being held accountable for their actions will help prevent these abuses in the future.

Also to note, this incident would have never happened if it weren’t for a neighbor who called the police on the man for walking down the street.

The neighbor called the police and described the gentleman as, “a skinny black guy, he’s got a toboggan on, he’s really skinny.” The Zimmerman-like neighbor told the operator that he was following him, as he was supposed to be on his way to work. However, he was apparently so threatened with this peaceful grandfather out taking a morning stroll, that he didn’t want to leave his wife home alone.

Another paranoid American who we speculate watches too much Fox News and is scared of any black or brown person walking down the street caused this incident to happen. For future reference to anyone who believes in using the government to save them from “scary people”; don’t call the cops unless your life is directly being threatened, because this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.
